Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacy Manager with expertise in Oncology and Specialty Programs to join our dynamic healthcare team in Boston, MA. This role will oversee the pharmacy operations within our outpatient oncology department, ensuring optimal patient care and the effective management of medication therapies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical pharmacy, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for improving patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Management:

    • Direct and manage the daily operations of the ambulatory pharmacy services within the oncology and specialty programs.
    • Lead a team of clinical pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, providing mentorship, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Clinical Oversight:

    • Collaborate with oncologists, healthcare providers, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized medication management plans.
    • Monitor patient responses to therapy, adjust medication regimens as necessary, and provide patient education regarding medications and side effects.
  • Program Development:

    • Design and implement innovative pharmacy services and clinical programs that enhance the quality of care for oncology and specialty patients.
    • Evaluate and improve existing pharmacy protocols and practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Quality Assurance:

    • Monitor and evaluate clinical outcomes related to medication use, and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and efficacy of therapies.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient interactions, clinical interventions, and outcomes.
  • Collaboration & Communication:

    • Act as a liaison between pharmacy services and other healthcare departments, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
    • Educate healthcare professionals and staff on oncology pharmacotherapy and the role of pharmacy in patient care.
  • Research & Education:

    • Engage in research activities and contribute to scholarly projects, presentations, and publications.
    • Provide continuing education to pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals regarding oncology medications and therapies.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited pharmacy school.
  • Active pharmacy license in Massachusetts.
  • Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) or equivalent specialty certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical pharmacy experience, with at least 2 years in oncology or specialty pharmacy management.
  • Strong clinical knowledge in oncology pharmacotherapy and patient care.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
